I bought a white W810i in Hong Kong in late 2006.

It was a good choice! The phone is quite small (though some Sony phones are slimmer now), it is packed full of features and the audio quality is excellent.

Occasionally, the headphones jack input/charging jack input (same socket) needs a wiggle to get the phone to recognise the attached cable but it only takes a second and is not a real problem.

I have a 1GB memory card and can store loads of songs and photos and videos.

The camera is good! My girlfriend says the quality of my 810i camera phone is better than her regular digital camera.

And most important, the build is quality. Earlier this year I fell into a river in Portugal and my W810i phone was under water for 10-20 seconds before I fished myself out. The phone stopped working for a couple of days but once it had dried out, it worked again!

Durable, solidly built with good audio and camera options.

A good phone and I am, from now on, a Sony man all the way. (I still have a Sony TV from 1992 which is in full working order, and a Sony radio from 1998 still going great guns!)

I don't seem to be able to carry around more than one device so having a mp3,camera and phone all in one was just what I wanted. It is really easy to use and good quality. The disadvantages are that it is quite chunky, the memory is limited (but I am about to updrade the memory stick so that should solve that) and the flash is really a light that you have to turn on. Saying all that it is a really nice phone and I'm enjoying it and it was easy to switch from a Nokia too.

I bought this phone for roughly £160ish when it was first out and was immediately impressed. It had a better camera than the K700 and K750 which I had owned before. Great autofocus, bright flash and general brilliant quality for a 2MP.

The Walkman worked fine with a 4GB card and at the time was amazing, it geld 460 mp3s no problem and the sound quality was always perfect, even with the earphones supplied.

Brilliant build quality, very easy to use keys and shortcuts - perfect design.

All in all the phone is amazing but very dated now, the Walkman is very basic but fulfilled my needs. After over 2 years I'm now looking to replace it for a better music phone and to be honest, I can't find anything reliable and on the whole better. I wish I still had it, it's the best.

I have had this phone for over a year now and it has been pretty good for me untill recently. The problems i have recently been getting is that the Open applications button won't work anymore and now my phone won't come up with the text, it just shows a envelope at the top of the sceen.

Good points-
Decent 2mp camera
Easy to use phone
Software to transfer songs, pics etc to your phone is fairly simple
Upgradable memory
Decent sound
Headphones are brilliant
Battery life

Bad points-
Not a very attractive phone
Only comes with 512mb (but can be upgraded)
Sometimes it shuts itself off
Camera button sometimes doesn't work
Dust easily gets on the lens

But don't get put off by the bad points, they only happen over a long term. This is a very decent phone for it's price. 8/10

 
A year and I still love it posted on 2008-04-22
I brought this phone over a year ago and I still absolutely love it. The quality of the camera has now gone down but that is only because it has been used so much but really it is still in great condition. It is easy to use and does whatever you want it to do. I got a free 512MB card duo free with mine and holds loads. I brought a new phone the other day because I thought it was time for a new one, but I switched back to my original phone and sent the new phone back, only because my old phone was much better.
If you are considering getitng this phone I definetly would I have not had a problem ever since and am now going to order a bigger memory for my phone to hold more music.

Don't know about you, but I love this phone.
